I thought it had a clunky/slow start. Once the author focused on the main characters I really loved it. The magic was fun and different. I absolutely loved the circus back story and imagery. Felt like a lot of story into a short time if that makes sense? It should’ve been fleshed out in places and longer or left some of the plot out.

Slow start. Two minutes too many characters to keep track of, too many of them died. I was confused about the kind of magic. The main characters magic was until the very end. I liked the character Rey the most, I felt like he was relatable.
