"Life and times of Ms Jane Kinnison of Kingdom Mountain" by gooseharp (see profile) 01/27/09

My bookclub loved the prinicipal character, Jane Kinnison, because she was a strong, independent, and confident woman living in a remote town. She was able to live confortably and work hard, yet had time to participate in local events as well as continue with her art form (wood carving). She was also able to welcome her possibly last chance at a physical relationship with a man she knew was probably not going to stay, enjoy it, and go on with her life when the inevitable happens.

It was the general consensus that the rest of the characters were not developed as fully as her and that perhaps even her character could have been more developed to show more emotion when events happen.

All in all most of the members enjoyed the book and we certainly had no trouble at all filling two hours with discussion.

"IT WAS A HARD BOOK TO GET INTO" by FUNKIEDI (see profile) 01/28/09

ON KINGDOM MOUNTAIN WAS A HARD BOOK TO GET INTO. THE MAIN CHARACTER WAS AN INTERESTING PERSON BUT SHE WAS NOT REALLY THAT BELIEVABLE IN PARTS.
