"" Kermit Roosevelt vividly illustrates the subtle and stark effects of the law on the lives not only of a group of lawyers, but also on communities and private citizens. In the Shadow of the Law is a m" by sfinemel (see profile) 10/27/05

This legal thriller is gripping but the presumption of knowledge of the law makes it harder to understand .The author does illustrate the stress and pressures facing lawyers in a large firm practice
There is so much legalese and without knowledge of the U.S. court system one can get lost in the script. The intended audience I feel is lawyers and could be directed more to law students or associates.

"Did not think this was a easy read" by bklvr2 (see profile) 10/31/05

The details of the characters in this book were excellent but I felt that it was slow to get going. I forced myself to finish, this was not a book that kept my attention span very long.

"Many fascinating characters, learn how the law really works." by MARYLOU (see profile) 11/19/05
