"Archon, The Books of Raziel - Exceeded expectations!" by cascadesjn (see profile) 01/03/12

I am a very big fan of epic fantasy and this book fits the bill. It is a story that requires you to pay attention, take notes if you must, since it introduces characters and settings that build a unique world where angels, demons, jinn, humans and others populate a dark gothic world which is destined to doom unless a savior comes forth. The main character is a girl named Angela, a bloodhead, tagged by the color of her hair to be of special interest to many since this hair color marks those destined to be the possible Messiah. The author weaves an interesting tale of psychology and religious mythology. Her vivid writing style has created strong chracters and settings, and as the first book of three in the series, is heavy on information. This is a book where sometimes the good guys are the bad guys and vice versa, leaving you with many a ha! moments. The climactic ending leaves one waiting for book two to continue the saga. I would highly recommend this book for true readers who are not daunted by shifting points of view and several plot lines. They all add up in the end and hats off to Ms. Benulis for presenting something unique in this genre. Please note that although ARCHON is listed as young adult/crossover,there are episodes of graphic violence. I would recommend this read to those age 15+
