Written in a different style than I am used to. This book seemed to take forever to catch my interest, but once it took hold it was like that Tennessee mountain became a part of me. I found myslef curious, angry, and invested in it's characters. The novel was neatly tied up at the end like a beautiful bow in a fancy gift shop. I think it is a dramatic and powerful book choice. Especially if you are familiar with Eastern Tennessee or even with mountains in general.

Very interesting read. At times it was very emotional reading about the difficulties in the characters lives. In reading the book you felt that you were right there with them.

I did not want this beautiful novel to end. Told from multiple perspectives across generations and settings, Bloodroot will make a great book club selection. Packed with symbolism and depth, this one will give your club so much to discuss! I am gushing about this gem!

Amy Greene attended our book club meeting and she is fantastic, interesting and just a lovely person. The book is an interesting read. Hard to catch on to the characters because of the writing style but you don't want to put it down. Beautifully written!!
