Not enough insight into how a serial killer's family is different from every other dysfunctional family
Two complaints about this book as follows:
1) I think it was miss marketed. It was really about the challenges of being raised in a poor, dysfunctional household. It started strong and than quickly faded. There is no depth shared during the more compelling situations leaving us unable to connect to what was marketed as the heart of the story.
2)I had difficulty associating with the characters - especially when they were very young. The thoughts were that of an adult thinking back but written as if they were thought as a 5 year old. It just didn't work for me. While grammatically well written, I didn't "feel" the characters through much of the book.
