I enjoyed this book because I have been to the outer banks and I can just see the setting as clear as day. I enjoyed the story about the U-boats and how the book let us into a glimpse of the Germans lives. There was several different things going on and all of them were great. The only thing I didn't care about it was that it sory of left you hanging on some of the topics. But overall it was great.

Unique characters and the author was a good story teller that kept you interested in the characters' lives after the book was completed. I will be reading the next book in this trilogy.

This book had many aspects to it. In some ways it was a bit of a mystery due to the loss of a child, the time period in between Josh Thurlows departure and life outside of Killakeet and then his return as a CG boat captain. It was romantic though a bit patchy and rough. It had excitement and suspense because of all the sea battles and anxiety caused by Ensign Thurlow's boat being unarmed for much of the book. It was interesting and appealing to all sexes.
