"Slow in the beginning and too much profanity." by tonidezorzi (see profile) 10/20/08

I thought the book was a little slow in the beginning, but picked up towards the middle. I had a hard time getting past all the profanity and elicit scenes. I don't believe it all was needed in the story line.

Didn't love it, and didn't hate it. The premise of it sounded much better than it actually was.

A poorly written, stupid story abouts Gods. The point of the book is that the Gods are losing their power because we no longer believe in them, but the fact is they are not real. Anyway, somewhat entertaining at times but not a good book to read if you have anything else to do with your time.

This was a very cleverly written book that my book club read recently. A very light read, but enjoyable and fun.

"Dissappointed....." by MississippiMom (see profile) 01/04/11

I was really disappointed in this one... the tag lines and blurb on the back caught my attention and I thought it would be a fun read for my book club, but it was rather disappointing on the whole... I guess I expected better from the gods, but they seemed very shallow... or maybe I was confusing gods with heroes....
Anyway, I do not recommend this book at all...

"Well, they got the title right !" by biscuits&cookies (see profile) 04/04/11

Some of the gods were behaving pretty badly. I still free sorry for Kate (a mortal, who was turned into a tree and then later chopped down, OUCH!!). Of the gods, I liked Artemis and Hermes. And of the humans of the book - I liked Alice ( Artemis' cleaner) and Neil (the Hero). My favorite part of the story is when Artemis and Neil went to the Underworld (to try to save the world and find Alice). That's when the story picked up and I was able to finish it. But would I recommend this book to my friends or pick it for a book club? NO!! But I did have the urge to play "SCRABBLE" :)
