It was a good book club book - the style of writing was a little ponderous - was it because the writer is a poet by nature? Great descriptions of the family heritage and nature of each culture -the Irish and the Czech families... the ditty: A son is a son until he takes a wife, but a daughter is a daughter all of her life is very poignant and relevant to many of us...
