Definately not a good choice for a book club. Perhaps an interesting read for someone who is fascinated in wine making history and technique. I did find the historical information interesting however I was looking for more of a story about the famous lady..

A fact filled book that gets too technical on the winemaking chemistry. The history of the time (French Revolution, Napoleon and N111) is interesting as well as the history of champagne. Overall it is a hard read.
