Our book club on the whole did not enjoy reading The Winner Stands Alone. The majority finding it difficult to get through and not actually finishing the book. Others found reading it more interesting, if not spectacular, but were quite frustrated by it's abrupt ending.
Amoung the group there were existing fans of Paulo Coelho's work with their own expecations of his writing style it was more of a dissapointment to those members which was unfortunate.
