it was a great way to welcome in the holidays...and a glimpse into what post war england may have been like.

I found this story of loss and hope to be inspiring and a great read for the season. Although the book was an easy read, it wasn't "fluffy" but rich and heart-warming. Also, I enjoyed the setting of post-war England and the background of the difficult days following the war.

I did not care for this book. I felt it was not written well and that the story and characters could have used further development.
