A very easy read. A book that would be good read for a rainy weekend or at the beach. I found it interesting for the information about fly fishing. This book is a fast page turner.
This book was light reading but I did pick the killer before the end. Enjoyed the description of the area and characters. Having grown up in a northern small town in the midwest I could relate to the characters. I would read another of her books but would not buy one. The book did not lend itself to much book club discussion.
The setting of the books was good. By a big lake with lots of fishing. A party cove. Yes, they have them. Lots of conversations but you could guess who was the murderer quite soon. The murders did not make sense. A fast read, but will not long remember it.
I give a blanket thumbs up to all of Ms Houston's books. Some I would rate higher than others, just as I am sure she has her own favorites. I just finished Dead Hot Shot which I enjoyed even more than Dead Madonna. I hope this series goes on for years and years. I would love to see this developed into a long-running TV series.
