"Lots to discuss...very scandalous!" by tanya (see profile) 07/10/06

Definitely would recommend this read for book club discussions. Our book club met for 2 and 1/2 hours with plenty to talk about. Good easy read just enough history but nothing that bogged down the story. Full of scandal and wrong decisions that kept me wanting more.

"Many different topics to talk about, a good read, and great for women's clubs!" by lotrnerd (see profile) 07/10/06

I thought this was a very telling story about the time it took place in. The very helplessness and powerlessness of women in the 18th century made Mary's story very sad. While there are definite bad choices in her short life, a lot of it was out of her control.
