Nicholas Sparks offers a very realistic view into the mind of a teenage girl. At the beginning of the story it is really hard to like Roni. She is so angry and bitter. Eventually, you watch as she transforms into a mature adult that can see all sides of situations. You learn along with her that certain events in her life are not as they seem and she has been very wrong in placing blame. Ultimately the lesson learned is that things are not always "black and white" and that holding on to anger and bitterness hurts you more than anyone else.
Nicolas Sparks writes very good novels...however pretty predictable and as always, the happy ending. This book is about young romance, which is the relationship always remembered fondly. Thumbs up review
This is a beautiful story about a family really coming full circle. Nicholas Sparks done a great job showing the characters anger, regret, frustrations, triumphs, love, forgiveness. Beautiful story with so many life lessons.
