"True to life portrayal of flawed characters competing in a reality show.." by AnnM (see profile) 11/14/07

This book stimulated lots of discussion re: TV, reality shows, homosexuality, parenting teens, religion. A fun read, but with enough underlying issues to have a compelling discussion.

"At the heart of it, this is a mother/daughter story" by dmc1230 (see profile) 02/08/08

I didn't expect to like this very much. The premise is that a group of various characters (and yes! I mean CHARACTERS!) are on a reality TV show. I hate reality TV but this was a clever idea. It's a novel about love and loss and about "finding" what really matters. Not a bad read.

"Amazing Race on paper!" by SebastiansMom (see profile) 04/01/08

I really enjoyed this book...mainly because it reminded me of my favorite reality program, The Amazing Race. I liked that the story was told from each character's point of view and you could really get inside their head. There were some poignant moments and some laugh out loud funny scenes too. A nice quick read that had a little more depth than a summer beach book.
