Wow. Wow. Wow. I enjoyed this book so much. I've read it three times now. The storyline is so well thought out. The adventure is heart-pounding. This is an intelligent thrill ride. Dan Brown does such wonderful research before writing his books. There's a cover page with the tag line "FACT" to state what is actual fact out of this believable fiction novel. I was completely drawn in. This is the prequel to The Da Vinci Code though both books can stand alone. While I really enjoyed reading The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons was my favorite Dan Brown novel. I can't wait for the movie.

Great book! I actually enjoyed it more than DV Code! I recommend this to every one and anyone. A+

"Great story!" by cdaleo (see profile) 01/31/08

I enjoyed this book more than The DaVinci Code. Not sure it has enough "discussability" though!

"Entertaining with a lot to discuss" by zulloc (see profile) 03/07/08

The book was fast paced with many predictable as well as unpredictable twists and turns.
It provided a great deal of information on the Vatican that many of our readers had not known prior. Much of the book was a historical learning experience.
Dan Browns website helped us in the areas that were visually lacking. We all seemed to connect to the story better with having seen photos of the actual churches, and artwork.
We all agreed that we enjoyed Da Vinci code better, however Angels and Demons was well worth the read. It was interesting to see how Robert Langdons character was prior to Da Vinci Code.

"not as good as" by ellentambo (see profile) 06/07/08

Was expecting more after enjoying the Davinci Code, and did not like it. I believe this was published first. It is a good adventure story, but does not spark the same kinds of discussions as the DaVinci Code did.

"Very Brutal and disturbing" by tooterbell (see profile) 06/08/08

I finished this book but it took all I had. It was very brutal and disturbing. I didn't feel good when I finished this, I was just glad it was over. It probably has enough "meat" for discussion, but it won't be an uplifting one.

"I love this book!" by cam21girl (see profile) 06/18/08

Ok. So I would recommend this book but w/reservations because it is very religious. It questions many catholic beliefs and rituals. I am not a practicing catholic but at times felt that I was offended by some of the things that came up. Which also shows that this book is very thought-provoking. It had me questioning my beliefs and why I was feeling so conflicted. This book would be great for discussion w/a book club that has wide range of variety of likes and dislikes. I recommend this to people who can keep an open mind about their beliefs and be ok w/fiction intertwining w/truth. Enjoy!

"Faced paced and fun read" by toosmart2happi (see profile) 03/29/09

I enjoyed Angels & Demons as much as the DV Code. Maybe it's because I am a huge history geek (I own books on symbology *nerd*) so I was already well aware of all the occult and symbolism aspects of the book. That said, I enjoy Dan Brown's weaving of historical facts into an exciting fictional story line. I do not think the story is one sided - science/religion/everything in between is well balanced with different characters with different beliefs. My only beef is with the very end, when there was no "whistle blowing" about who was the mastermind --- that really really bugs me.... but oh well, I still enjoyed it.

Angels and Demons is a fast read and definitely gets the mind going. I recommend this book to anyone who loves thrillers, mysteries, and conspiracies.

I really did enjoyed this book. It revealed to me events that took place in the church that I never knew aobut. There is so much involved with Vatican and the Catholic Church. The adventure was good but somewhat predictable at times.

The action in this book never stopped. Although the events that occur would be impossible in real life, it was still a fun book to read.
