I loved this book, our book club read this for April and everyone finished it in record time. The story consumes you to the point you really don't want it to end. I am hearing there is a mini series this summer, which I am sure can in no way do this story justice.

I could not put this book down. The characters jump off the page and come to life.

This books is very slow and drags on for chapters at a time. There are several love affairs that are truly endearing, however the gross injustice of the early church and the government of England is disgusting. So much rape and pillage. Grotesic details. Just don't see the purpose of this story.
