I really, really enjoyed this book! Although it had some very dark moments, outside what i normally read, I was fascinated by Lisbeth. There were so many facets to her personality and twists and turns that you never expected. The mystery surrounding her is answered in the 2nd book, but I think the 3rd book was the best yet!

I loved this series. I had read a lot about these books and couldn't wait to read them. I read about a third of the first book and thought it was slow and dull and wasn't sure if I would finish it. I am so glad that I did. About half way into the book it really took off for me. The story became more about the characters and less about the very detailed scandal the character was trying to expose. Book two hooked me from page one and book three was absolutely 5 stars from start to finish. I would highly recommend this series. Might be a little lengthy for book clubs but worth the read for anyone who has the time.

Quite addicitive. Our group had a lively discussion with the first book. At that time our main controversy was "who was the Main character, Lisbeth or Mikael?" We have now read all three books. Sadly, Larssen will not be continuing these characters.

i found this book hard to follow and boring. i did'nt connect with any of the characters and had to force myself to finish it.that being said the rest of my bookclub really enjoyed it.

Dark, disturbing and addictive, once you start this series you will not be able to put it down. The beginning of The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo is a little slow and the Swedish names and locales a little difficult, but stick with it for the ride of your life! Each novel represents a different type of crime fiction: The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo is a who-done-it, The Girl Who Played with Fire is in the mode of the lone avenger and The Girl Who Kicked a Hornet's Nest is a spy-thriller.

The first novel is graphic but the second two are not as graphic but the first novel sets the stage. The second and third novel answer the questions the first novel left you amazed in! Awesome reading adventure!

Our group really enjoyed discussing the entire trilogy. We appreciated the character development and twisting story lines. We wish there was more to the series. The discussion was based on the reading guides available on the internet.

The first book was a slow start but once the 2 stories turn to one it is very good. The second and third are awesome couldnt put it down. Cant wait to see the Swedish movies and then American to compare

While I found parts of the novels tedious at times (I am not a reader who enjoys page after page of descriptive narrative of the surroundings), wading through the "rough spots" was well worth it. I liked the story lines (each book getting better than the previous) and characters. I felt sympathy, frustration, anger, the whole spectrum of emotion, towards and for the characters. I must admit, I wish I had a bit of Lisbeth in me.
