Only 1 person in our book club enjoyed this book. The rest of us didn't think the character development was done well at all. It jumps around too much without making its point. The ending and story of the grandmother could have been really interesting - but it wasn't developed. Many of us were becoming adults in the timeframe referenced by the book (1979-1980) and couldn't relate to how the book portrayed the times. Basically, we felt the author was living off of the success of her first book. We did manage to have a lively discussion but that's the best thing we could say for the book.

Very jumpy and un finished.
