Lois Meltzer brings to life four women who realize they are "unnoticed" and past their prime who can seek moral revenge on society and people. Small things at first: rudenesses are redressed; insults are repaid. Later, as the movement grows: banks are robbed; an eco-rapist is blackmailed into doing the right thing; a Supreme Court Justice is kidnapped... all with the intention of making at least a few of the things that are wrong, at least a little right. The invisible, dispossessed women are, sure enough, beyond (or below) suspicion. And so their "Book Group From Hell" decides to go global: they put up a website, "call-to-flabby-arms.com", the purpose of which is to liberate their peers from lives without efficacy. Several of their "schemes" were unrealistic, but not outlandish enough to be considered quirky. It had me laughing out loud in many parts!!
I just wish she would have developed the characters a little more...next book?
