I found this book to be an example of a neighborhood working for the good of all. Overlooking minor(?) idiosyncrasies, sometimes invading privacies, helping out in time of need and offering advice where needed families come together, strangers are welcomed and all benefit.
Alot of characters, maybe too many. The book could have been done shorter, too many different story lines.Having said that I enjoyed reading this book didn't love it.
I was really interested in learning Irish customs and way of living even though this is a fictional book. To sum up, this is a fun read about a young man and his challenges in life. It also was interesting how a neighborhood (friends and family) will look after each other in life.
The characters were interesting and fun. They became interconnected throughout. Everyone in our book club enjoyed this book.
enjoyable book - had great discussion
