Exciting and darkly romantic, FALLEN is a story about forbidden love - most teens/young adults will enjoy. Lucinda's character is underdeveloped however I expect this is simply due to the fact that it's the first book in the series. The story ends with some cliffhanger set-up for the second book "Torment", due out September 2010.

Lauren Kate probably has better books in her future. This just wasn't a very good one. Her style is good, but she spends far too much time dealing with teen angst and not enough moving her story forward.
