Rarely (as in almost never) do I pick up a book, start reading, get past the half way point with have no desire to finish and find out what happens. The characters do not draw you in or evoke much feeling at all - except maybe frustration. The story is disjointed and uninspiring. I had no interest in knowing what happened to the people in this book. Too bad, it could have been a very powerful story....sadly, it was not.
The members of Books and Cooks enjoyed the book because we all have daughters and felt it was relatable, *some too close to home. It was interesting to share our own family dynamics dealing with a crisis and know that it effects everyone. We felt bad for Zoe that she did not have a strong support system with family or friends to help her better deal with her daughters and husband.
