A multi-layered, multi-generational story of a family dealing with life's ups and downs, centered around the aging matriarch, who is funny and lovable, but also increasingly in need of assistance. Very endearing and insightful, exploring different family member's perspectives. An interesting and enjoyable story.
THEY MAY NOT MEAN TO, BUT THEY DO is worth reading because of its perspective on growing old (as in 80s) and dealing with adult children. They may love you and mean the best, but they demean.
That pretty much sums up this short book. It’s a quick read if you skip the occasional boring paragraphs.
