A book that had a lot of twists and turns and flashes from present to past. Gave you many things to think about.
Everybody in the book club really liked it. It was a interesting book, not much drama going on but the characters were interesting and the book was well written.
From analyzing characters and relationships, art and psychiatry, we had our best discussion ever for the Swan Thieves. The nature of obsession was the focal point of our discussion and we could have talked much longer. This is a novel that everyone in the group raved about, which is unusual for this group!
At about page 300 I realized that I knew just as much as I did in the first 10 pages. I also didn't really care about the characters very much. There was no "buy in" to the idea that a man would risk his ehtical practice for someone so...unworthy of help. The voices of the characters were all the same. Drastically disappointing.
Loved the unfolding like a painting. I could see references to art while reading. Well written.
