It started out a bit slow covering just day to day life but I think that was reflective of the point of what normalcy in family life is until tragedy strikes. The author truly did communicate the feeling of emptiness and emotional desolation when something terrible happens and there is no way to go back and capture the everyday normalcy.
If you like a full range of emotions in your reading and you like an outstanding story teller, you'll love this novel.
A beauifully written heart wrenching story about a family's tragedy. Cried multiple times while reading this.
This book was very slow and when the "event" happened, I just didn't feel the emotion that should have been involved with such a tragedy.
I had no idea what this book was about and when it came to the punchline I was completely shocked.
Good book...very well written. Pretty easy read, except gets challenging about half way through.
Anna Quindlen creates a dramatic story of an seemingly average Family. A real shocker!
