I enjoyed this book, I could hardly put it down. And there were moments that brought tears to my eyes.
It must have been great to have someone like Livvie in the children's life. She was a strong woman.
I enjoyed the book! Not sure I would suggest it for a book club meeting - more of a sitting by the pool book. The author has a sense of humor
This is the second time I have read this book. Read first time when first released. The book flashes between 1963 and 1999. This gives us insite into the reason that Susan reacts to life as she does. Livvie the guiding hand as Susan grows, makes you want to see, what is next.
This takes place at the beach, which makes it a great beach read. However, it takes place in the Fall and Winter which makes it a great anytime read.
A great read, just didn't want to put it down, even for second time around.
I can see myself reading this again sometime in the future.
I liked this lowcountry beach read. To me there were to many references of the Catholic traditions, myself not Catholic, did not understand many of the references. The story as a whole is a good story and I will read the follow up novel.
