not your average book club book. Make sure people know it is supposed to be a satire, and therefore very funny. lots to talk about
Not for the non-thinking reader. A good choice for clubs who really like discussions about deep, real things. A satire, very enjoyable reading. Really makes you think about your own spiritual life.
Entertaining while bringing up serious Spiritual issues.
Our book club had the best discussion ever after reading the Screwtape Letters. The author truly describes people who would be possible subjects for the young devil to convert to the dark side. Unfortunately, many of us saw ourselves in some of the descriptions! Great personal insight and a quick and easy read.
Also, quite humorous.
Wow. Lewis's insight into human nature is astounding. His creativity in using satire to point out human flaws is awesome. Great discussion.
Confusing at first- I felt like I was only listening to half of a conversation. Definitely need to sit and read pretty much all at once so there is less confusion and you can try to follow the sequence of events. Entertaining at times.
This book would probably raise some great discussion ponts if it weren't too dull to read. I did not find the supposed humor in it, nor was I moved by it. Blah.
