"Historically Interesting" by ccaterer (see profile) 04/20/11

Our club enjoyed learning more about Korean history and the role of the Christian church in Korea. Some of us felt the book was a bit of a slog, and some felt the writing held the reader at a distance, being more of a recitation of events as opposed to drawing the reader in with lyrical, evocative prose. A good book for discussion.

The characters were real, the writing well done, and the story gave me a glimpse of the culture in Korea of which I knew little! Our club unanimously agreed!
