I very much enjoyed the author's description of places in the West. He also did a great job with character development.

This is a book that reminds me of being back in school. The writing is clearly superior and it us evident why it has won awards, but it was a chore to finish. The main characters were hard to like and some of the chapters dragged on, very much like life itself can be/do. This may have been one of the best discussionsolution our book club has had and I am glad I had the chance to read this book.
