This novel offers many serious life topics for discussion. So, if your group likes to share... this one may be for you. Reads slow at times; that is, until you get to the last 100 pages. Oprah's website has discussion questions available.
This book grabs whatever perspectives you might have and toys with them. I agree that this book will be a good discussion book for clubs. While the story drags slightly at times, it is a very good read. I was so surprised to find that this was written by a man.
I read this book years ago, but it still sticks with me today. A great read.
I went into this book thinking it was going to be slow and hard to dive into. That's what I get for judging a book by the cover. I couldn't put it down and found myself sneeking off to read a chapter, a page, a paragraph..... I just had to find out what was going to happen.
this book goes on and on and the protagonist rarely moves forward. not worth the effort.
I've been told my many people this is a good book and a must read but maybe I didn't get it. Nothing about the book was earth shattering. It was rather depressing and thought the main character was too self endulged. I'm not like that and have a hard time relating to people who are. I give her kudo's for being a survivor but not sure how realistic her life really is.
The book reads well and has good topics for book club discussions. However, I didn't like reading about all the negatives.
