So, my book pick this time was The Radley's by Matt Haig. I chose this book because it was first recommended to me by a customer at work and when I read the description I was instantly intrigued. It's not your typical vampire novel and that's what makes it interesting. It tells the story of a family of vampires trying to appear normal in the suburbs of modern England. Their world is torn upside down when the daughter, Clara, accidentally kills a classmate of hers that was trying to rape her. The Radley's now have to scramble to not only tell their children they are vampires but to cover up Clara's killing. It's wonderfully told with just enough action to keep you reading. I hope everyone had as good a time at the meeting as I did!
Much Love,

Not your typical vampire story, and therein lies its strength (or its weakness depending on how you feel about vampire novels.) I liked it and can easily recommend it for book clubs. I read it within a couple days: it holds your attention and makes for an easy read, Clubs can find enough topics for discussion. A good choice for the month of October - serve red wine at the meeting and enjoy.
