Great timing to read this memoir of Hemingway's beginnings as a writer in Paris in the 20s. Our reading was enhanced by seeing Woody Allen's movie, Midnight in Paris, and several club members also read The Paris Wife, a fictionalized account of the same time period from the perspective of Hemingway's first wife, Hadley. Beautifully written (Hemingway truly was a great writer!). Transports the reader to another time and place - one that is now gone. Highly recommend! Group discussion was exciting and multifaceted!
Interesting classic memoir if his poor but happy years in Paris in the 20's with his first wife Hadley and friends. I suggest seeing the 2010 movie Midnight in Paris for a book club meeting.
