Very long (nearly 800 pages). Too many characters to keep good track of what they were doing and developing their presence. Lots of difficult and depressing topics in the book.

"Beach Music" is a beautifully written novel so read slowly to savor each word! One of my favorite books by Pat Conroy as he always tackles complicated family histories with Southern backgrounds. Loved it!

If you like family drama then you will love this book. This book tells the story of family secrets, betrayals love and loss. You will cry laugh and scream. You will think of these characters long after you have finished the book.

Everyone in our bookclub loved this book. Very captivating and dramatic. It was like 10 books in one. Definitely a must for any bookclub.
