The group liked the book, but compared it to the movie. Most felt it either did not live up to the movie or the movie altered the book too much. Most readers would recommend the text, but with reservations.

Well developed charatrts that you take to your heart. Descriptions of chocolate (and people) that ate so vivid you can smell them through the pages. Nice to have a break from books that are heavy or depressing. I think this would be a great beach read.

An escape book. You feel as though you are living in the village and could easily picture yourself having a lovely afternoon treat at the chocolate shop.
