This book takes you on an adventure with the main character that you would want to ride along with! I laughed out loud over and over and couldn't wait to find out where Leigh was headed next and what hysterical thing would happen while she was there! Leigh references the 80's generation regularly, so if you grew up or lived through the 80's you will relate well with her tone. I enjoyed it tremendously and was sad to see it end.
I absolutely 100% adore Leigh Fielding!! I love her voice, her honesty and her way she looks at things in the world. I could be prejudice since it’s set in the 80’s (I am one of those girls too); or the way she is “called” to take her trip (I follow my inner voice too); OR the fact I laughed out loud more times while reading this book than I have in a long time.
You learn about transplant issues and it is good to read and learn something you might not have looked into. The humor made the book light and almost to easy to read.
We were honored to have author Jess Riley attend our discussion of Driving Sideways. She was very charming with a quick sense of humor that had us feeling we were visiting with an old friend. She shared many insights on how she came to write her novel- the trials and tribulations as well as the life experiences that inspired her.
