Was not as good as the previous two. I thought it would have been faster and more adventerous. Did they leave Katniss somewhere? She just laid around for most of the book. Not what I expected.
I loved the twists and turns of these books. I couldn't wait to see who she ended up with (Gale or Peeta). There were some nice surprises towards the end.
The story continues in this the third book of the Hunger Game trilogy. Although most of the story is futuristic the underlying storyline and tones of the book are very good for discussion. The books are a very fast read.
This book does not finish the trilogy as you may expect but is still a good read. I felt the ending was rushed. Mockingjay raises interesting theories of the concept of war and post traumatic stress syndrome. Does war ever really end?
This was my least favorite of the series. I suppose the author does address the very real concept of post traumatic stress and war. However, Katniss spends a significant amount of time being sedated or unconcious, which makes for a slow read to what could have been another fast paced adventure.
Very disappointing. I closed the book thinking "what was the point to all of that?". Very poorly written. As this is a young adult book it saddens me to see there is no real moral lesson learned. The series had real potential after the first book. So much could have been done with it. Scenes in this last book felt hastily thrown together with no real cohesion.
I don't think it was as good as the first two but I still loved it. Was disappointed in the ending.
Darker than the other books but maybe necessarily so. I do recommend that book clubs read the trilogy rather than choosing just this book. No worries about discussion topics with the Hunger Games books ... perhaps this last one in particular. Addictive series, overall.
