I enjoyed this easy read. It was informative on the subject matter of dementia. My family is beginning to see the onset of this disease on my Grandmother is provided insight into the emotions surrounding caring for a loved one and provided some insightful knowledge.
Wonderful book that is more about dementia and families dealing with it. Oscar is at home in the long term care facility and the doctor is trying to scientifically prove what Oscar does.
OUR BOOK CLUB LOVED THIS BOOK. EVERYONE WAS ABLE TO RELATE TO ALZHEIMERS DISEASE; AS IT HAD TOUCHED EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US. OUR LOVE FOR ANIMALS WAS ALSO RELEVANT. WE HAD A WONDERFUL DISCUSSION AND WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO OTHERS.
I can very well understand the relations formed with animals, especially cats, as I have owned several and they have since passed on, one just this last August. He was 19 years old and a pleasant companion. He comforted me when I was lonely or having a bad day. I did the same for him when his last days were evident.
this was personal to me since I have a love one suffering memory loss and felt the same frustrations as relatives of people in the book. Definitely a must read
