It is real page-turner. I wanted to read it quickly but was reading another library book first and when that was finished I started Donna's book and finished it in less than a week reading several chapters every day. I wanted Sarah, the protagonist, to kick Roy Glen out but she had to leave instead and filed for divorce. The family history was very interesting and the info about glass-blowing and manufacturing was helpful to the story.
I thought this book was beautifully written. There were some cliches in regard to what happened in the main character's marriage, but it definitely hit home. It was very insightful as to what a difficult marriage can be like. This book can be challenging for people who have abuse in their background & they should be aware of this. In fact, I did not go to my club's discussion because of the feelings it brought up for me. However, I loved the book & the main character, whom I would describe as a "shimmering spirit".
