I find the series generally entertaining if you don't want to take your magic too seriously. There is a fair amount of vampire, zombie, wizard, etc. bashing but not depicted in a graphic manner. There is good characterization and detail to create visual imaging. I feel the writing and characters are continuing to develop in a positive way with each new title. I am not sure it would suite everyone in a club but to me, worth a reading.
