The witness is about a woman running from the Russian mob. I enjoyed the first section about young Elizabeth and liked the character of Brooks. I had a harder time believing and relating to Abigail. She was just so robotic to me. I normally love Nora Roberts and can't put her books down, but this one wasn't one of my most favorite. It was good and would be good for a discussion, but I can't say I was longing for more when it was finished.

Jumps right into it at beginning and keeps going. Only thing I didn't like was ended to fast.

All the characters were intriguing and at many times it was a page turner. Loved the twist of an ending.

I really enjoyed this book because it showed that you can overcome obstacles if you have a parent who cannot and does not show you love, if you end up in a dangerous situation and have to protect yourself, and you can love. Wonderful read.

Solid romantic suspense. Addictive to read and fun to discuss - no more, no less.

The Witness was well written compared to others in this genre and with the same theme of "Witness Protection", The characters were well developed and the book club members had an interesting discussion on the book. However, we had negative comments about the profanity used by the main characters. Understandable perhaps from the "bad guys" but not necessary for those who are supposed to be the "good guys." And no, not all of our book club members are in their twilight years and out of touch with the real world!
