"I found the book insightful into the daily routine of a poligamist family" by SarahDeckerNing (see profile) 03/01/11

I felt like the book was a honest portrait of the author's life in a polygamist family. Unlike other books (for example, Under the Banner of Heaven), this book was not written around some scandalist moment in polygomy. Although the book is sad in general, I found it most insightful on just the daily routine of a polygamist family. Also the author's emotional struggles with coming to terms with her family and her history was an interesting journey to read. The struggles to remain true to the Principle seem exhausting to me. I realize also that relative to so many young woman that are raped or brought into the fold under horrible circumstances, the author's life was relatively tame. The book can be slow in parts, but overall, I found it interesting and enjoyed reading it.
