Readers are grabbed in the first chapter for a wild ride in Philly as John, our detective, winds his way through a double murder investigation fraught with intrigue, cops gone bad, and an ancient document that no one wants discovered. Not just a murder mystery, but a question regarding what we would do to have some happiness in our lives and what we would do when the impasse presents itself. More than skin deep, a story worth reading from a first time novelist.

"Murder Mystery – Quick Read" by Rette (see profile) 12/03/12

The book immediately grabs your attention with the grizzly murder/suicide that leads Detective John Mcdonough on a bizarre hunt for the murderer. The author provides just enough facts to keep you wanting to read more so you end up reading the book quickly to find out what happens.

I really enjoyed the humor peppered throughout the book. I definitely recommend this book to other book clubs to read.
