Inspiring true story of Greg Mortenson, part-time nurse and mountain climber, turned school builder in impoverished areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan. The writing is wonderful and the adventures he had in achieving his goals were fascinating. The book opened my eyes as to why so many young Muslims in those countries have turned to extremism. They don't have many options on ways to make money and no future to look forward to. Building schools that do not teach extremism and educating these children give them hope and is the way to prevent them from turning to extremist teachings. I strongly recommend this book!

I started out thinking I wouldn't like the book but after the first chapter, I was hooked!
