This book is so interesting to read as a mother of two small children. I found Mrs March to be such an inspiration, albeit a unattainable one. I loved reading about the lives of these women at a time when they had so many more restrictions than we do now. Their lives were rich and full and interesting in a way that I would not have imagined and made me long for a simpler way of living.
We had a good discussion on women's issues as well as the relative term "poverty". We had just read Pride and Prejudice so this was a nice companion to that.
This book is highly enjoyable to read. There is plenty to discuss here and it is interesting. Due to it's length, we spread it out over 2 months to make it more manageable. It's breaks up nicely.
I have read Little Women at least ten times throughout my life. Each time I discover something new to love and learn from. If you haven't read this classic, I highly recommend it!
Little Women is worth reading. The characters and how they grow and change keep you reading. It stimulated a decent amount of discussion as well.
We felt compelled to read this book and we hated it! It was so slow and long.
Good discussion book. Slow in parts, but always with purpose, spirituality & intuition. Every woman, young & old, should read this piece of historical fiction from the Transcendentalism/Civil War era (seems like an oxymoron).
