This book is well written with words worthy of quoting as they are insightful. While the author brings up topics worth pondering there are lots of funny scenes. I highly recommend this book.

The story of the relationship between Major Pettigrew and a Pakistani woman grocer. This book shows the desire to do right by the main characters. Much to discuss in your club.
By the way, we Skyped with the author and found her to be delightful. She seemed to really enjoy talking with her readers and she is quick witted and funny. I highly recommend that your club set up a Skype session with her.

Very well written British Novel. Love the little village feel and the small town mentality. The reality check from the younger generation's behavior brought you back to current time. The book had a feel of being written in the 40's. Highly recommend it.

Major Pettigrew's Last Stand is not to be missed. Simonson's words flow freely wrapping the reader into the story. Such rich characters, strong and flawed! Beginning to end, wonderful !
