This novel takes place during the French Revolution, which is a time period that I am not very familiar with, so I feel like I learned a lot about the political climate at that time. The story itself was interesting, but the main character could be exasperating at times in regards to the decisions she made that put her life and her daughter's life in jeopardy. Great story overall - I would definitely reccomend it to other book clubs.
