Do the choices we make as parents have consequences? Or are kids hard wired to be who they are? Can you protect your children or should we give them the freedoms that we remember from our childhood? These are the types of questions you are left thinking after reading Finding Jake. Simon worries a lot, Rachel hopes her calm creates a sense of \\\"normal\\\" for the whole family. Laney is care free. And Jake is, words cannot describe.
WOW is all I can say. This book spoke to me- first it was unique- written from the point of view of a stay at home dad. Second he nailed it with all the neighborhood and school \\\"culture\\\" of being parents. And third-most importantly- all the self doubt we have as parents. This book is not really about a school shooting but about family and the choices we make, do not make and the anxiety we face about it all.
Could not put it down! Powerful, thought provoking and suspenseful. Made me smile, laugh, and cry. Loved it!
