Definitely did not live up to the reviews I read. Did not grab my attention, was glad when I finished the book.

Rather slow and unconvincing. Too many nonessential details mid way. Book could have been written with much less detail to get across the writer's point--which was difficult to determine. Did not appreciate ending.

This book was very hard to get into. I didn\\\'t like it from the very beginning. I didn\\\'t like the characters at all. I pushed through it, hoping I would change my mind and find something to like about it. It did not happen. After pushing through it,, the ending fell flat.

I enjoyed this book. Beautifully written. Love historical fiction and this did not disappoint.
